During disaster response we all need to work together to get the "right person to the right place at the right time." We need to be able to identify and deploy the most qualified volunteers quickly, often without regard to their affiliations. This is what VOAD has always excelled at and the Disaster Help Network is here to help by providing you with advanced technology for volunteer recruiting, coordination, tracking and sharing inside your organization and between all VOAD / COAD members.
The system is working well in several American Red Cross chapters as well as with faith- based organizations, Volunteer Centers, and literally thousands of others across the country. In many metropolitan areas, including Silicon Valley, CA., the system is utilized to create a network environment between multiple customers.
Perhaps the most powerful feature we enable is a non - private "Electronic Community Database" that permits authorized users to search all volunteer profiles across multiple organizations. Search results may or may not include private information depending on the relationships that exist between the database owners. Regardless, the search operator will learn which organization has ownership of the volunteer so they can be contacted.
